On 15th February our Cerdon College community came together to formally commence the school year, through the celebration of the Eucharist. During this special mass we were able to welcome our newest members, Year 7, to the College. Read more …
We also introduced our formation goal for 2019 - 'OCEAN’ One Community Embracing All Nations. This goal will focus our Marist Community and all our works this year on the words of Pope Francis, “The Lord asks us for unity; our world, torn apart by all too many divisions that affect the most vulnerable, begs for unity.”
Our opening mass also allowed us to present badges to students who have accepted positions of leadership and service within the College. These roles include: Class Captains, Mission Promoters, House Captains, Prefects and Social Justice Leaders, School Service Leaders, to name a few. All office bearers pledged their dedication to service to the school in a manner in accordance with our Marist ideals.
Finally, our gathering also provided the school community the opportunity to recognise and congratulate the high achievers of the HSC class of 2018. Many of our ex-students who will shortly commence their tertiary studies attended our ceremony so that their efforts and achievements could be publicly acknowledged.
Cerdon College is always grateful for the engaging Eucharistic celebration that Father Peter Strohmayer OSPPE provides us. We thank him for all he has done for Cerdon and pray that he will be richly blessed in his move to St Gertrude’s Parish Smithfield.
