The Cerdon College Swimming Carnival was held on Wednesday January 31 at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre and it was an enjoyable day had by all.
There were some fantastic performances at the carnival and we congratulate the following students who have been awarded Age Champion and Runner Up for their respective age groups:

I would like to thank all of those students who participated on the day and to the parents who attended in support of their daughters. Large whole school events such as the swimming carnival require the contribution of many staff and students to ensure that they run smoothly.
I would like to acknowledge those that fulfilled official duties on the day including our very dedicated teaching staff and the Year 9 Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS) students. Thank you to the House Mentors, Captains and Vice Captains for their continued support and commitment to their House throughout the day.

St Peter Chanel, the first martyr of the Society of Mary and Oceania. Ordained in 1827, he was known for his deep sincerity and holiness. He joined the Marists in 1831 and became a missionary to Oceania, where his words inspired and turned many locals to God. Tragically, he was martyred on April the 28th, 1841. Canonised in 1954, his feast day is now celebrated each year on the 28th of April. Together we pray: St Peter Chanel, you left your homeland to proclaim Jesus, Saviour of the world, to the peoples of Oceania. Guided by the Spirit of God, who is the strength of the gentle, you bore witness to love, even laying down your life. Grant that, like you, we may live our daily life in peace, in joy, and in fraternal love. May your prayer and example call forth from our midst many workers for the Gospel so that God’s Kingdom may reach to the ends of the earth. Amen.

ANZAC Day 2025 This morning Emma Kusumo (College Captain) and Janessa Georges (Vice Captain: Academic) represented Cerdon College at the Merrylands RSL ANZAC Day Dawn Service; they had the opportunity to pay their respects as they were invited to lay a wreath during the ceremony. Thank you to Rebecca Roach and Mary Georges who attended the service to support our captains.
